Today, Mr. Preston’s Biology I students conducted a hands-on yeast lab to simulate the production of carbon dioxide gas. They then compared their results to how CO₂ is released during wildfires and even zombie fires in nature!
This creative experiment helped students connect real-world environmental events to the biochemical processes they’re studying in class. Learning science has never been more exciting! 🌎🔬

📣 MACA’s JAG students had a great day at Parish Government Day! 🏛️
Students visited the St. Landry Parish Courthouse and heard from Parish President Jesse Bellard, State Rep. Dustin Miller, Judge Gregory Doucet, Judge Charles Cravins, and several staff members who help keep our parish running. They toured multiple departments, enjoyed delicious gumbo 🥣, and—thanks to our awesome bus driver Mr. Bobby Ware—ended the day with Dairy Queen ice cream! 🍦
