TESTING UPDATE Please have your child to report to their base school NO LATER THAN 7:45AM to ensure they are on time for testing. Base schools may not permit students who are late in arriving into testing sites.

Hello CAPS family. State testing is approaching. All students must report to their base school for testing. PARENTS MUST PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR STUDENTS TO THEIR BASE SCHOOL ON TESTING DAYS. PARENTS MUST BE PREPARED TO PICK UP STUDENTS AS SOON AS DAILY TESTING IS COMPLETE. Students are NOT allowed to remain on campus outside of testing times. Student testing schedules will be sent via text message, school website, and Facebook page.

District provided testing schedules: 3rd grade (Wed April 26 - Fri Apr 28; Mon May 1 - Tues May 2) 4th - 8th grade (Tues April 25 - Thurs Apr 27; Mon May 1 - Tues May 2) 9th - 11th grade (Testing Window: Tues Apr 18 – Fri May 5) 12th grade (Tues Apr 18 – Thurs Apr 21) Specified testing dates for high school students are forthcoming. The base school can also be contacted to obtain testing dates and times for individual students.

In-parish transfer requests are now being accepted. To request an in-parish transfer, visit https://forms.gle/HbSYNGdNdHWsXPuE9. The deadline is June 9, 2023.

Autism Awareness Month is observed in April. During this month, we reflect on the challenges faced by individuals with autism and their families. This month serves as a reminder of the need for increased understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with autism and their families.

JUMPSTART SUMMERS PROGRAM APPLICATIONS ~Open to all current students enrolled in St. Landry Parish public schools in 9th through 12th grade (MEDIA ARTS is open to students in grades 7-12) ~ Courses are designed to prepare students for careers involving specialized skill sets. ~Students can earn up to $2,000.00 depending on the program. ~Program begins May 30th and ends August 1st. ~Program contingent on the number of applicants. ~The application will close on May 5th. Please share the following information with anyone wishing to newly enroll their child in kindergarten in St. Landry Parish School District. Who can enroll? ~Your child is eligible if he/she is a new kindergarten student to St. Landry Parish Schools in the 2023-2024 school year. ~Your child is eligible if he/she is five years of age by September 30, 2023. ~Your child is eligible if he or she was born between Oct. 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018. ~Your child is eligible if he/she is a current SLP Head Start Student who qualifies with age.
