Northwest High School is proud to announce a significant contribution to the well-being of
school community. In an effort to enhance safety and preparedness within our school, the Sports
Medicine partnership consisting of Opelousas General Health System, Wellsmart Health – Opleousas
Orthopedic Clinic, Moreau Physical Therapy and Louisiana Athletic Care has donated an Automated
External Defibrillator (AED) machine to our athletic department.
This charitable initiative stems from the commitment of the Sports Medicine partnership to the health
and safety of the students, staff and visitors to our campus and athletic venues. AEDs are crucial in
times of cardiac emergencies, providing immediate assistance that can make a life-saving difference.
Our athletic department will be better equipped with this cutting-edge AED strategically placed on the
premises, ensuring rapid accessibility in the event of an emergency. This donation aligns with the
mission of the Sports Medicine partnership that has supported our school community for over 15 years
and has created a secure environment for our student-athletes and students to pursue their goals.
Northwest High School expresses its sincere gratitude to Opelousas General Health System,
Wellsmart Health – Opleousas Orthopedic Clinic, Moreau Physical Therapy and Louisiana Athletic Care
for their dedication to the well-being of our school community and for their collaboration in
implementing this life-saving initiative.
