Important St. Landry Parish School Board District-Wide Closure Notice
Please be advised that all St. Landry Parish School Board schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26th, and Tuesday, January 27th, due to forecasted winter weather conditions. This decision was reached after consulting with the National Weather Service and the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. All after-school activities, practices, and school or district-related events scheduled for these days are also canceled.
We encourage everyone to stay indoors, keep warm, and stay safe for the duration of this winter weather event. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding Wednesday’s schedule through our standard communication channels.

NCHS: There will be no Learning Beyond the Bell on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Students are to catch their normal bus after school and go home. Thank you.

The Steve Carter Education Program provides $1,500 vouchers to families of eligible K-12 public school students per school year. These digital vouchers are used to purchase high-quality literacy and math tutoring.

Program Details:
👉Available to K-12 public school students who are below reading and mathematics proficiency.
👉In-person or virtual options are available.
👉Tutoring sessions must be held after school hours.

🛑 You must have your child’s school-issued Louisiana Student ID (LASID) number to complete the application. This is a 10-digit number assigned by schools to track student information.🛑

NCHS: 10th grade Students will be participating in the pre-ACT on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Please have your student here by 7:30 am so that we can begin the testing on time. Thank you and have a great day.

Parents/Guardians: Second grading period report cards were given to students today. Please ask him/her for their report card.

MERRY CHRISTMAS NCHS FAMILY!!!

North Central High School will have an early dismissal tomorrow, Friday, December 19th, at 12:00 PM. This early dismissal also marks the start of our Winter Break.
Students will not return to school until Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Introducing “Rock Ya’ Crocs Friday”!!! Student body must obtain 95% attendance and no major referrals for the week!!! Eligibility begins Friday, December 5, 2025. DOTD Announces Bridge Closure on LA 10 in St. Landry Parish.   Beginning Wednesday, December 3, 2025, a closure will begin on Bayou Tawpaw Bridge on LA 10 near Melville. Detours for this closure include the following: EASTBOUND TRAFFIC
Travel North on LA 360, and then South on LA 105 WESTBOUND TRAFFIC
Travel North on LA 105, and then South on LA 360 Emergency Vehicles will not have access to the area.
